Dear Choir Students and Parents,
Welcome to the Cypress Falls High School Choral Program – the choir program that is dedicated to musical excellence! The CyFalls Choir is composed of talented, hard-working and successful students, and we are excited about what we will accomplish this year! Our program gained state and national recognition by Honor choir performances at the Texas Music Educators Convention and the National American Choral Directors Convention, along with many student awards, including members in the Texas All-State Choirs. We plan to continue our tradition of choral excellence by maintaining high standards, encouraging dedication, and fostering teamwork. Our choir calendar can be accessed through Google and cyfallschoir.com. We will also provide instructions to the students how to access it on their cell phones. Please notice events that are marked mandatory. This means the activity is part of the course requirements. Students will receive a grade for his or her participation. If the activity is a performance and the student is absent because of an illness or family emergency, a parent note is required for the student to be given an assignment with the same performance criteria to earn his or her grade. Detailed information about all choir events will be communicated to the students in advance. Also included on our website is our choir store where you can buy different products sponsored by our Booster Club. Performance-based activities--like choir have necessary fees, so we try to lump most of it into one fee to keep collection times to a minimum. The required fees we need to collect at this time are the Choir fee and the choir shirt. Choir Fee: $30 Choir Shirt: $15 If your student purchased a shirt last year, he or she will not need another shirt unless it is damaged or no longer fits. Any other fees that come up during the year for optional events would only involve those students that are participating. We understand that times may come up that you cannot pay for a needed fee or activity and that you may need an extension on a deadline. If this occurs, please do not hesitate to let us know. We will be happy to work something out for your student. We are asking that the choir fee and choir shirt fee be turned in by Friday, September 16. So much goes into running a successful program, and it depends greatly on the involvement of our choir parents. You are a valuable asset to the operation of our organization. Please consider becoming a member of our Booster Club. We will need and welcome help with social functions, chaperoning trips, providing food for events, and carrying out activities. A Google form will be emailed to you about volunteering and becoming a Booster Club member.
