| Topic: Solo & Ensemble Contest | Poster: D. Douglas | Date: 01/24/10 | Solo & Ensemble Contest is Friday, January 29 at Stratford High School. We will be taking a bus to this event. We will leave the school at 4:00PM.
Students will be wearing choir shirt, khakis, brown belt, and brown shoes.
If you want to pick your child up from Stratford High School after his/her event, I will need a signed note from you no later than Thursday. Notes will not be accepted Friday. Your child will need to ride the bus back to CyFalls.
| | Topic: Pizazz Tickets | Poster: D. Douglas | Date: 01/24/10 | Tickets for the Pop Show go on sale Wednesday and Thursday, this week for Booster Club Members only. Tickets will be open to everyone on Friday.
Cost of tickets is $10 for Reserved and $5 for General.
Tickets will be sold during class periods and lunches, February 1 - 5.

The following students placed at the All-State Auditions. These students will be performing at the Texas Music Educators Convention in February. We are proud of them for all their hard work to obtain this level of success.

| | Topic: Pop Show Costumes: 3rd Pd/Chamber Choir | Poster: D. Douglas | Date: 12/26/09 | The following costume list is for 3rd Period, A cappella Choir and Chamber Choir. Students were given a hard copy before the Holiday Break.
Students will need all costumes by JANUARY 15. A grade will be given for each song's costume. Every student will receive a total of (5) grades for costumes. Chamber members receive (6) grades.
A CAPPELLA CHOIR
- Don't Stop Believin': Jeans, Tennis shoes, Colorful T-shirt
- The Beat Goes On: Dancewear/Exercise-wear (Choose an outfit from these options)
- Men: Matched Sweat suits(pants and zip-up jacket); Short shorts OVER sweat pants, usually not matched; Tube socks, pulled up to knee-usually striped at the top; Sweat bands (on forehead and wrists); Tight bright colored T-shirt (NO sleeveless shirts)
Women: leggins-must have a dance skirt or shorts over them; Sweat shirt with the neck cut bigger with tank top or leotard underneath; Leotard (only with sleeves --NO sleeveless, unless underneath a sweatshirt); leg warmers; dance shoes or sneakers
- Fame: (Choose an outfit from these options)
- Men: pleated pants with tapered leg (white, popular color) with matching sports coat; corduroy pants; Black jeans, with white socks and black dress shoes (jeans are hemmed above ankle, so you can see socks); Parachute pants; Tight leather pants ('80s punk); Pleated pants with belt and tucked in shirt; Tucked in button-downed shirt, sleeves rolled up 3/4 length, top buttons left open; T-shirts: graphic, bright, or neon colors; Jackets: Leather or Jean with sleeves pushed up to elbows; Accesories: Ray Ban sunglasses; chains around waist--like a belt;
Converse; Hightop tennis shoes; Hair: slightly teased, curly, long and layered, or mullet - Women: Tight stone-washed jeans--high waisted or pleated; "Prep" look: Knee length skirt (plaid, wool, etc.), tights (generally patterned), men's dress coat with sleeves rolled to 3/4 length, sweater tied around shoulders or waist; Neon shirts with matching socks; Long shirts tied to side: Primary colored shirts; Buttoned up dress shirts with sleeves rolled 3/4 length; Thick belts; Plastic charms, hoop earrings, slouch socks; Vivid make-up (blue eye shadow, etc.); Jellies; Keds; High top tennis shoes; Converse; Hair: ultra teased, side ponytail, crimped, stick-up bangs

- Elvira: Blue jeans, White dress shirt or White western shirt

TREBLE CHOIR
- Dreamgirls: (Choose an outfit from these options) - Black pants or black skinny jeans, dress slacks; Knee-length dress (black, brightly colored, or sequined); Shiny, brightly colored shirt (possibly belted at waist); Accessories: flashy jewelry, big hoop earrings, lots of bangles and colorful bracelets, Shoes: Black flats, or other matching shoe (No tennis shoes or converse)
- The Rose: Jeans, Colorful T-shirt, Tennis shoes
- Ease on Down the Road: Choir Shirt, Blue jeans, Tennis shoes
CONCERT WOMEN

| | Topic: Solo & Ensemble Sign-up and Fees | Poster: D. Douglas | Date: 12/13/09 | We are currently signing students up for the annual UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest, to be held on January 29.
Students may participate by singing a solo and/or singing in an ensemble. We help the students in selecting their music. The students select their ensemble members.
The fees for each event are: - Solo - $10 UIL fee and $20 accompanist fee
- Ensemble - $10 UIL fee
Fees and entries are due by Friday, December 18.
